2023 NFL Mock Draft: Full first round with 3 weeks left (2023)

2023 NFL Mock Draft: Full first round with 3 weeks left (1)

It's April and that means the NFL Draft is right around the corner.

The game is in the books, the first two weeks of free agency are over, and the pro tour is almost over. With just over three weeks to go before the Carolina Panthers are officially on the clock, here's another guess at what the first round will look like:

1. Carolina Panthers (via Bears): C.J. Stroud, QB, Ohio State

2023 NFL Mock Draft: Full first round with 3 weeks left (2)

Adam Cairns-The Shipment of Columbus

If the Panthers targeted a quarterback, they managed to keep him close to the vest. Stroud remains the betting favorite and as such will remain at the top of my simulation for now.

2. Houston Texans: Bryce Young, Field Seaman, Alabama

2023 NFL Mock Draft: Full first round with 3 weeks left (3)

Gary Cosby Jr.-USA TODAY Sports

Its size is pretty much the only thing that causes concern. It's a flaw the Texans will likely ignore as they build their franchise around it.

Trade - 3. Las Vegas Raiders (via Cardinals): Anthony Richardson Jr., QB, Florida

2023 NFL Mock Draft: Full first round with 3 weeks left (4)

Doug Engle/Gainesville Sun

If the Raiders want a quarterback, they really can't afford to sit around and wait until the seventh pick. While Las Vegas has Jimmy Garoppolo to be the bridge quarterback, rumors link the team to Richardson. A deal with the Cardinals could ensure the Raiders get their man.

4. Foals of Indianapolis: Will Levis, quarterback, Kentucky

2023 NFL Mock Draft: Full first round with 3 weeks left (5)

Jordan Prather-USA TODAY Deportes

According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, there are“a bit of a stir throughout the league”about the Colts' affinity for Levis. With three quarterbacks already off the board, Indianapolis could bring their man here at the No. 4 pick.

5. Seattle Seahawks (via Broncos): Will Anderson Jr, EDGE, Alabama

2023 NFL Mock Draft: Full first round with 3 weeks left (6)

Gary Cosby Jr.-USA TODAY Sports

It's a dream scenario for the Seahawks, as long as they don't want a quarterback. After four consecutive quarterbacks fly past them, Seattle gets to pick the rest of the field and it's not a difficult choice. Anderson is at the top of the defensive player class.

6. Detroit Lions (via Rams): Christian Gonzalez, CB, Oregon

2023 NFL Mock Draft: Full first round with 3 weeks left (7)

(Video) First round 2023 NFL Mock Draft (FINAL)

Troy Wayrynen-USA TODAY Sports

The Lions might be tempted by the chance to sack Tyree Wilson or roll the dice for risky Jalen Carter, but after adding Aidan Hutchinson last year, Detroit could add Gonzalez at the back.

7. Arizona Cardinals (vía LV): Tyree Wilson, EDGE, Texas Tech

2023 NFL Mock Draft: Full first round with 3 weeks left (8)

Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

After pulling out of the draft, the Cardinals lose Will Anderson, but Wilson is a solid consolation prize. The team hopes the 6'6, 271-pound can fill the void left by Chandler Jones in 2022.

8. Halcones de Atlanta: Devon Witherspoon, CB, Illinois

2023 NFL Mock Draft: Full first round with 3 weeks left (9)

Matt Krohn-USA TODAY Deportes

The Falcons began their defensive rebuild by signing safety Jessie Bates III and defensive tackle David Onyemata, but the cornerback position still needs work. Witherspoon may not tick all the boxes in terms of size, but he was as dominant in coverage as you'd expect from a college defenseman.

9. Chicago Bears (via Panthers): Paris Johnson Jr, OT, Ohio State

2023 NFL Mock Draft: Full first round with 3 weeks left (10)

David Banks-USA TODAY Deportes

Chicago was expected to participate in the offensive tackle market in free agency, but opted to spend money primarily on the defensive side of the ball. Here they pick the forwards and decide that Johnson is the best in the class.

10. Eagles of Philadelphia (via Santos): Nolan Smith, EDGE, Georgia

2023 NFL Mock Draft: Full first round with 3 weeks left (11)

Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

After surprisingly retaining Darius Slay and James Bradberry, the Eagles can turn their attention elsewhere. With Robert Quinn out of free agency and Brandon Graham now 35, Philadelphia may have a young running back to build on.

11. Tennessee Titans: Peter Skoronski, OT, Northwest

2023 NFL Mock Draft: Full first round with 3 weeks left (12)

Brad Mills-USA TODAY Deportes

The Titans need to find a long-term replacement for Taylor Lewan. Skoronski's size and arm length (32.25 inches) will raise questions about whether he should play guard or right tackle, but the Titans should have a reliable starter regardless.

12. Houston Texans (vía Browns): Quentin Johnston, WR, TCU

2023 NFL Mock Draft: Full first round with 3 weeks left (13)

Ben Queen-USA TODAY Sports

(Video) 2023 FULL First Round Mock Draft: The Fans' Choice

The Texans are in desperate need of wide receiver talent, especially after signing a quarterback at the top of the draft. Johnston, a 6-foot-4 deep threat, would be a young quarterback's best friend.

13. New York Jets: Broderick Jones, OT, Georgia

2023 NFL Mock Draft: Full first round with 3 weeks left (14)

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

The Jets couldn't put together a healthy year with Mekhi Becton and were able to walk away from Duane Brown and George Fant. A new offensive tackle is a must for the Jets if they hope to protect Aaron Rodgers when he finally lands in New York.

14. New England Patriots: Joey Porter Jr, CB, Penn State

2023 NFL Mock Draft: Full first round with 3 weeks left (15)

Dan Rainville / REDE EE.UU. HOY

The Patriots found some gems at cornerback last year in Marcus Jones and Jack Jones, but the team could still use some size at the position. Porter is the 6-foot-2 cornerback New England needs.

15. Green Bay Packers: Jaxon Smith-Njigba, WR, Ohio State

2023 NFL Mock Draft: Full first round with 3 weeks left (16)

Adam Cairns-USA TODAY Deportes

The Packers won't leave Jordan Love with much to work with if they don't look for some talented receiver later this month. Even before losing Allen Lazard to free agency, Green Bay's large receiving corps was one of the worst in the NFL.

16. Comandantes de Washington: Deonte Banks, CB, Maryland

2023 NFL Mock Draft: Full first round with 3 weeks left (17)

Jeff Hanisch - USA TODAY Deportes

The cornerbacks flew a bit faster than the commanders would have liked, but Banks has all the tools to be the best of the bunch.

17. Pittsburgh Steelers: Dawand Jones, OT, Ohio State

2023 NFL Mock Draft: Full first round with 3 weeks left (18)

Adam Cairns-The Shipment of Columbus

The Steelers need to protect Kenny Pickett and putting a 6-foot-8 Goliath in front of him is a good place to start.

18. Leones de Detroit: Calijah Kancey, DT, Pittsburgh

2023 NFL Mock Draft: Full first round with 3 weeks left (19)

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Deportes

The Lions opted not to improve their top-10 defensive line and drafted a cornerback. Now, in the second half of the first round, they can go back and take a player to buff their front.

19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Brian Branch, S, Alabama

(Video) 2023 NFL Mock Draft | Full First Round

2023 NFL Mock Draft: Full first round with 3 weeks left (20)

Gary Cosby Jr.-USA TODAY Sports

The Buccaneers could go either way to start their post-Tom Brady era. In Branch, they would have a versatile defense that Todd Bowles can use in a number of ways.

20. Seattle Seahawks: Jordan Addison, WR, USC

2023 NFL Mock Draft: Full first round with 3 weeks left (21)

Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

The Seahawks have two starting receivers in DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett, but very little depth behind those two. With Addison, they would have a terrifying trio for the sidekicks to deal with.

21. Los Angeles Chargers: Lukas Van Ness, EDGE, Iowa

2023 NFL Mock Draft: Full first round with 3 weeks left (22)

Jeffrey Becker-USA TODAY Deportes

The Chargers have a formidable passing pass duo in Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack, but the latter is likely entering his final season with the team. Van Ness could be the long-term replacement at the limit.

22. Baltimore Ravens: Zay Flowers, WR, Boston University

2023 NFL Mock Draft: Full first round with 3 weeks left (23)

Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Deportes

The Ravens have the Lamar Jackson drama to sort out, but regardless of how he hits, the team needs to beef up his wide-receiving talents. Flowers could finally give Baltimore a wide receiver.

23. Minnesota Vikings: Jalen Carter, DT, Georgia

2023 NFL Mock Draft: Full first round with 3 weeks left (24)

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

The slide had to end at some point. Carter's prodigious talent won't let him down much, but his awful final few months could cost him a top-10 spot. The Vikings are a team with the culture and the roster to make the risk worth it.

24. Jacksonville Jaguars: Will McDonald IV, EDGE, Iowa State

2023 NFL Mock Draft: Full first round with 3 weeks left (25)

Ben Queen-USA TODAY Sports

McDonald's only comes in at 239 pounds, but that's where the negatives end. He has the arm length that Trent Baalke covets, he's explosive and he's the most productive pass rusher in the class. With Travon Walker and Josh Allen set to start in 2023, McDonald can be a rotational running back while adding some size to take on the NFL forward.

25. New York Giants: O'Cyrus Torrence, G, Florida

2023 NFL Mock Draft: Full first round with 3 weeks left (26)

(Video) Round 3: The First Kicker is selected! | 2023 NFL Draft

Vasha Hunt-USA TODAY Sports

The Giants have two tackles in Andrew Thomas and Evan Neal, but the inside of their offensive line needs an overhaul. Torrence is the most plug-and-play prospect of the draft class.

26. Dallas Cowboys: Michael Mayer, TE, Notre Dame

2023 NFL Mock Draft: Full first round with 3 weeks left (27)

Matt Cashore-USA TODAY Deportes

Dallas made significant investments in the tight end position during the Jerry Jones era. With Dalton Schultz exiting free agency, it would make sense if the Cowboys wanted to make another investment in the job in April.

27. Buffalo Bills: Bijan Robinson, RB, Texas

2023 NFL Mock Draft: Full first round with 3 weeks left (28)

Aaron E. Martinez / USA TODAY NETWORK

The Bills traded Damien Harris for Devin Singletary in free agency, but a tandem of Bijan Robinson and James Cook would make a fearsome duo on an already loaded roster.

28. Bengalíes de Cincinnati: Darnell Wright, OT, Tennessee

2023 NFL Mock Draft: Full first round with 3 weeks left (29)

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Deportes

The Bengals made Orlando Brown their left tackle for the foreseeable future, but right tackle nowJonah Williams wants out. Wright could connect and maybe even give Cincinnati an upgrade.

29. New Orleans Saints (via 49ers): Myles Murphy, EDGE, Clemson

2023 NFL Mock Draft: Full first round with 3 weeks left (30)

Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Deportes

Marcus Davenport is gone and the Saints have 33-year-old Cameron Jordan and several unproven players to start alongside him. Murphy could fill that void.

30. Philadelphia Eagles: Cam Smith, CB, South Carolina

2023 NFL Mock Draft: Full first round with 3 weeks left (31)

Jeff Blake-USA TODAY Deportes

The Eagles don't desperately need a cornerback after keeping Bradberry and Slay, but it never hurts to keep adding defensive quarterbacks.

31. Kansas City Chiefs: Bryan Bresee, DL, Clemson

2023 NFL Mock Draft: Full first round with 3 weeks left (32)

Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

(Video) The OFFICIAL 2023 NFL First Round Mock Draft! 8.0! (The FINAL Edition Before The Draft!)

The Chiefs have one of the most dominant forces in the NFL in Chris Jones, but they're still trying to build out the rest of their defensive line. They drafted George Karlaftis a year ago and signed Charles Omenihu as a free agent. Bresee could be another addition to an overwhelming list.
